| A Collosal Statue of Ramses II now at
the Britism Museum. This was the Pharaoh that Moses had
to deal with in terms of the Exodus and first Passover.
Concerning this event and the Hebrew people, Leo Trepp put it nicely: "It is this family-nation which sees the light of freedom during the rule of Rameses II, about 1280 before the Christian era, and returns home to Canaan." (A History of the Jewish Experience, p.8.) On the way Moses received the Jewish Law which added a new dimension to legal thinking about the individual, morality and intention. |
