The Lazuli bunting (Passerina
amoena) is the other smallest bird that lives in the area around
City Creek. The male and female of the species look very different.
The male has an orange breast with a deep blue head, white belly and
blackish wings and tail. The female is dull looking with no blue and
more brown colors covering its body. They nest in low shrubs and their
diet consists of seed and insects.
